Manoir des Rosiers

Noyant La Plaine is situated on the Route de Doué (formerly the D 761), midway between the towns of Brissac and Doué La Fontaine. We are equi-distant from the historic, cultured and lively City of Angers and the town of Saumur.

The closest ferry access is via Portsmouth-Caen. For travelling families the overnight ferry is an excellent option disembarking at 7 a.m. Caen is about 3 hours  by car. Brittany ferries

For those flying and hiring a car, Ryanair serves Tours and Poitiers from Stanstead, both a drive of 1 ½ hours and there are many other services.  

Between April and October, easternairways provides an excellent service between Southampton and Angers airport which is about a 30 minute drive from us. You can arrange a hire car from the airport.

There is a Eurostar/TGV service from London Waterloo involving one simple change at Lille for the train directly to Angers. There are more numerous train services by way of London/Paris/Angers.

 

Local Attractions

We are situated in a national park and are surrounded by many high quality vineyards of the Anjou, Touraine and Saumur appellations. The very highly regarded vineyards of Chinon are within easy access. Local producers and domains are always very pleased to welcome visitors for a tasting and to sell to you directly at very reasonable prices.

 

 

We are a short distance from the famous troglodyte village of Rochemenier which features a subterranean church and excellent restaurant.

The world famous zoo at Doue La Fontaine is a few minutes drive and the town contains many shops and  restaurants including traditional French, Chinese and Turkish menus.

The nearest of the many chateaux of the Loire is also the tallest – this being at Brissac, a ten minute drive.

 

 The awesomely wonderful Loire is a short drive at the pretty towns of Gennes and Les Rosiers.
